Gordon Winslow - "Favor"

Proverbs 3:4

"So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man."


What preceded this verse is a verse on obeying the commandments of God. Then, after saying that, God says you will find favor with Him and man.

It amazed me because not only did God say that He would show us favor, if in fact we obeyed His word. He goes even further and says that we would receive favor from men, as well. I don't know about you, but that makes me want to shout.

That shows the importance and the power of obedience. To think that just by following His word it would create such a powerful ripple effect that men would look at you and show favor to you.
That God would look at us and rain down blessings and favor on us.

Of course, all this hinges on whether or not we follow the previous verse. I pray that today we would surrender to God and follow His commandments and His word. Once we are in line with His word, EXPECT favor. Remember God can not lie, obey Him and He will bring favor to you.
