Gordon Winslow, Jr. - Thank God for “Exceedingly Abundantly”
Ephesians 3:20
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
I am thankful that we serve a God who is actually able to do what we ask. Not only this but his word says he will do it and do it exceedingly abundantly above.
Wow, I don’t know about you but that puts the icing on the cake. What God was saying is
don’t worry about what it is that you need, he can go above it so don’t worry, ask away.
Ephesians uses the words exceedingly and abundantly. Exceedingly means to be greater
than something in quantity; degree or scope.
Abundantly means providing a more than plentiful supply of something.
Now that is just like our God. He looks at our trouble and our problems and says I can fix it and make it better because what I have is greater in quantity, degree and scope. He can change your circumstance because he can provide a more than plentiful supply of whatever you need.
In other words, He is never going to run out of what you need.
But, all of this hinges on the very last part of this verse. The first part cannot happen in our lives until we fulfill that last part. So many people quote the first part but never the last. But we must fulfill the last part to obtain the first.
It says according to the power that works in us.
Two things are going on in this part of the passage. One is we must first have the power. Second we must have it WORKING in us.
When we have the power which is the Holy Ghost, and we have it working, That is through prayer and fasting and praise, then God is obligated to do his part.
I say let's stand up and work the power that is in us, so God can send more than enough. It’s our time to stand as Champions in Christ. I believe that God is sending an abundance. Stand and claim yours today.
May God bless you deeply.
