Gordon Winslow Jr - United We Stand, Divided We Fall

We have all heard this statement before, "United we stand, Divided we fall". Do we really realize the depth of this statement. United people have always made their mark in the books of history.

Even the Bible speaks on this subject of Unity. The very beginning of the church started when 120 men and women got together and were waiting on the promise of the Holy Ghost. How did God find them? He found them waiting together in one accord.

Looking back in the Old Testament we see the march around the city of Jericho was done when God told Joshua to march around the walls. A lot of people look at the number of times marched and other details in this passage. I wonder if we ever realize another truth, it took all of them together to march and bring down the walls.

UNITY.

Back to the beginning of the church. After the Holy Ghost was poured out the Bible says that they continued together in Unity. Can we begin to see a trend here? The church began with Unity.

In the beginning of the creation Adam and Eve had a unity with God. The Bible tells us that God walked with them in the cool of the day. But let's look and see what was the reason for the fall of Adam and Eve. One day Adam walked with God, then he became divided from God. This divide that took place was the very beginning of Adam's fall.

United with God we stand. United with each other we stand. Divided from God we fall. Divided with each other we fall.

The greatest tool the church of today has to battle the devil is: UNITY. Let's put aside the small petty issues that really don't matter in God's eyes and become United. God intends on this church standing; it's done by UNITY.
