The House of Vacancy
We all know, that in the Old Testament, the church was the tabernacle. God gave specific instructions on its blueprints. The New Testament brings in a new type of church or tabernacle; this one is your BODY.
No longer was God going to be among us in the tabernacle, but he was now going to be IN us.
Why would a God, who is as majestic as He, come to dwell in MAN? It's simple; dwelling amongst us in the tabernacle wasn't personal enough. That's right, God is a personal God. Allowing only the priests to come into His presence, while the others remained outside, was not personal enough for our God. He wasn't able to really get that quality time.
In the Old Testament, only the priests could go into the Holy of Holies. We couldn't do anything about it, that was just the way it was.
But, now it's a different story. The ball absolutely is in your court. God no longer wanted an Old Testament relationship, but a personal one. Isn't it a funny thing, how many wanted to be in the presence of God, but couldn't. And now that God has torn down the barrier, and we have free access to Him, we debate whether we have time for him or GOLF.
I often wonder if We who are called " the temple of the Holy Ghost" really are nothing more than a vacant house. Proud of the way the house looks, but there isn't anyone living there.
When God ripped the veil in two, he did so to build a relationship with YOU. I believe that it is our time to repair the house, to straighten up the place and put out sweet smelling candles. Let's take down the vacancy sign and put up the NO VACANCY sign. It's time to invite God back home.
It's time to become a HOME again, not just a vacant house.
