CAN YOU USE OLIVE OIL IN THE DANIEL;S FAST? IS THERE A AMOUNT OF SERVINGS OF FOOD?
Answer: The Bible doesn't say. This way of doing a Daniel's Fast as outlined on this web site is just one way of doing it.
Different people "do" the Daniel's Fast slightly different. Some use salt but no butter or eggs. Some use honey but no salt.
Regarding olive oil and the amount to be used, I can give you an example that pertains to my family. I fried hash browns in lots of vegetable oil and added salt and pepper. My son and I ate this and both declared it yummy and probably not much of a sacrifice. So, next time I fried hashbrowns I only used a small amount of oil. It was not as tasty and seemed more of a sacrifice to us.
You can decide how YOU want to "do" the Fast. The main guidelines for our church are vegetables & fruit only and no caffeine. The specifics are left up to you.
The purpose of this Fast, or any fast, is to make it a sacrifice unto God.
God Bless You
